What is Reduct ABM‑5?

The Reduct ABM‑5 is an as‑built mapping system developed by Ovarro (Reduct) for accurately tracking and recording the 3D position of small- to medium‑diameter underground pipelines. It is part of Reduct’s range of in‑pipe mapping tools used to capture the exact route and depth of buried utility networks.

What the Device Does

The ABM‑5 system consists of a small sensor probe (tracer) that is pulled through a pipe using a winch or rod.
As the probe travels inside the pipe, its internal sensors continuously record three‑dimensional positional data (direction, inclination, and depth).
After retrieval, the data is processed in Reduct’s software to generate a precise 3D map or “as‑built” profile of the pipeline route.

Main Functions

  • Capture the exact 3D path and depth of newly installed or existing conduits.
  • Verify installation accuracy against design drawings.
  • Produce digital as‑built maps compatible with GIS or CAD systems.
